DSLR Tips was launched on New Year's Eve 2007 as an online source of tips, tutorials and advice for Digital SLR owners. Our video-based tutorials reveal how to get the most from your DSLR and are accompanied by easy step-by-step guides for reference.

One of the joys of owning a DSLR is the vast array of lenses and accessories that are available, and at DSLR Tips we'll guide you through the often bewildering choices to ensure you buy the right equipment for your style of photography.

Whether you've just bought your first DSLR or are an existing owner looking to improve your technique, DSLR tips is here to help you get the most from your camera!

DSLR Tips is brought to you by Gordon Laing, Editor of Camera Labs, our sister site which provides detailed reviews and analysis of the latest cameras and lenses. Previous to Camera Labs, Gordon was Editor of Personal Computer World magazine in the UK, and remains a columnist and regular contributor to this day.

Gordon holds a degree in Physics from the University of Kent, has been a photographer for over two decades and professionally reviewed digital cameras since the Apple QuickTake 100 back in 1995. His first book, Digital Retro, an illustrated history of home computers in the 80s, was published in October 2004 by Ilex Press and Sybex Books.

DSLR Tips' sister site, Camera Labs is over two years old and in April 2008 served 3,008,872 page impressions over 567,517 visits. As of April 2008, our video reviews have been watched by over 2.7 Million people. DSLR Tips and Camera Labs are based in Queenstown in New Zealand's South Island.

How to support DSLR Tips

Thanks for supporting this site with your price checking clicks!

Producing the tutorials and guides at DSLR Tips is a very time consuming process. If you find them useful and would like to support DSLR Tips, please check the latest camera and accessory prices by clicking the store logos in the Pricegrabber boxes which you'll find on our pages or via the flags to the left.

And when you’re ready to buy photographic equipment - or indeed anything from books to DVDs, please consider purchasing from one of our affiliate stores. You pay exactly the same price, but we receive a small referral fee which keeps us up and running. It's a win-win which funds this site along with the reviews at Camera Labs, while ensuring you find the best price for your new equipment.
